2 Cookies and other technologies
Xiaomi and our third-party service providers and business partners use technologies such as cookies, tags and scripts (see "How we share, transfer and publicly disclose your personal information" below for more information). These technologies are used to analyze trends, administer the website, track users' activities on the website, and gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We may receive individual and aggregate reports on the use of these technologies by these companies. These technologies help us better understand user behavior, tell us which parts of our website users visit, and facilitate and measure the effectiveness of web searches. 3.1 Sharing

3.1.1 Sharing you actively choose or request

3.1.2 Sharing Information with Our Team
In order to smoothly operate our business and provide you with all the features of our services, we may share your personal information with other Xiaomi affiliated companies from time to time.
3.1.3 Sharing with Group Ecosystem Companies
Xiaomi works together with a group of companies that make up the Xiaomi Ecosystem. Xiaomi Ecosystem companies are independent entities that are invested and incubated by Xiaomi and are experts in their fields. Xiaomi may disclose your personal information to Xiaomi Ecosystem companies to provide you with and improve the existing products and services (including hardware and software) of Xiaomi Ecosystem companies. Some of these products or services will still be under the Xiaomi brand, while others may use their own brands. Xiaomi Ecosystem companies may share information related to products or services under the Xiaomi brand with Xiaomi from time to time in order to provide hardware and software services with Xiaomi, bringing better features and user experience. 3.1.4 Sharing with Third-Party Service Providers and Business Partners
In order to help us provide you with the services described in this Privacy Policy, we may share your personal information with our third-party service providers and business partners when necessary. This includes our data centers, data storage facilities and other business partners. These third parties may process your personal information on behalf of Xiaomi or for one or more of the purposes of this Privacy Policy. 3.2 Transfer
Xiaomi will not transfer your information to any entity except in the following circumstances:

• If Xiaomi is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of its assets, we will inform you of any changes in ownership, use, and any choices you may have about your personal information by email and/or by posting a prominent notice on our website.

4 How We Store and Protect Your Personal Information
4.1 Xiaomi's Security
We are committed to protecting the security of your personal information. In order to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, or other similar risks, we have put in place all legally required physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to protect the information we collect from you. We will ensure that your personal information is protected in accordance with applicable laws.
For example, when you access your Xiaomi account, you can choose to use our two-step verification program for better security. When you send or receive data from your Xiaomi device to our servers, we ensure that the data is encrypted using Transport Layer Security ("TLS") and other algorithms.
All your personal information is stored in secure servers and protected in controlled facilities. We classify your information according to importance and sensitivity and ensure the required level of security for your personal information. We have special access controls for cloud-based data storage and regularly review our information collection, storage and processing practices, including physical security measures, to prevent any unauthorized access and use.
We perform due diligence on business partners and third-party service providers to ensure that they are able to protect your personal information. We also check whether these third parties maintain appropriate security standards by establishing appropriate contractual restrictions and conducting audits and assessments when necessary. In addition, our employees and employees of business partners and third-party service providers who access your personal information are subject to enforceable contractual confidentiality obligations.

4.2 What you can do
You can set a unique password for Xiaomi and do not disclose your login password or account information to anyone (unless that person has your formal authorization) to avoid leaking your password to other websites, thereby compromising the security of your Xiaomi account. Try not to disclose your password to anyone (including those claiming to be Xiaomi).
4.3 Retention Policy
We will retain personal information for the period necessary for the purposes of information collection as described in this Privacy Policy, or as required by applicable law. We will stop retaining and delete or anonymize personal information after the purpose of collection has been achieved, or after we confirm your deletion request, or after we terminate the operation of the corresponding service. Except for personal information that we process for public interest, scientific, historical research or statistical purposes. To the extent permitted by applicable law or your request, Xiaomi will continue to retain such information beyond its standard retention period, even if further data processing is not related to the original collection purpose.

5.2 Your rights regarding your personal information
Subject to applicable laws and regulations, you have the right to access, correct and delete any other personal information we hold about you (hereinafter referred to as a request).

This Privacy Policy requires that your request meets applicable laws and regulations and the following conditions:
(1) Through Xiaomi's specific request submission channel described below, your request should be in writing (unless local law explicitly recognizes oral requests) to protect the security of your information;
(2) Provide sufficient information to enable Xiaomi to verify your identity and ensure that you are the subject of the requested information or a legally authorized individual acting on behalf of the subject.
Once we have enough information to confirm that your request can be processed, we will respond to your request within any timeframes set out in applicable data protection laws.
In detail:
• You have the right to receive clear, transparent and understandable information about how we use your personal information and your rights. That is why we provide you with information in this privacy policy.
• Where required by applicable law, we will provide you with a copy of your personal information that we collect and process upon your request, free of charge. Please note that depending on the extent of your withdrawal of consent, you may no longer be able to obtain the full benefits of Xiaomi products and services. Withdrawing your consent or authorization will not affect the validity of our processing based on consent before withdrawal.

If you want to cancel your Mi Account, please note that you will not be able to use all of Xiaomi's products and services after cancellation. In some cases, cancellation may be blocked or delayed.
6 How Your Personal Information is Transferred Globally
Xiaomi processes and backs up personal information through global operations and control infrastructure. Currently, Xiaomi has data centers in the United States, Germany and Singapore. For the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, your information may be transferred to these data centers in accordance with applicable laws.
We may also transfer your personal information to third-party service providers and business partners, so your data may also be transferred to other countries or regions. The jurisdictions in which these global facilities are located may or may not protect personal information to the same standards as your jurisdiction. Different data protection laws present different risks. However, this does not change our commitment to comply with this Privacy Policy and protect your personal information.
If we need to transfer personal information outside of your jurisdiction, whether to our affiliates or third-party service providers, we will comply with the relevant applicable laws. 7 Protection of Minors
We believe that parents or guardians have the responsibility to supervise children's use of our services. However, we do not provide services directly to children, nor do we use children's personal data for marketing purposes.
